The Brunel Centre

Case Study Image 02

The Brunel Centre was created to home specialist STEM education for sixth form students attending the South Gloucestershire and Stroud College in North Bristol.

Designed by architects, Hewitt Studios, it was planned with sustainability and wellbeing in mind, and during the preconstruction phase, the decision was made to switch from a traditional steel frame, to a cross-laminated timber structure instead, which had a significant impact on the buildings carbon footprint.

Elite was selected to furnish the new space with high quality furniture to create an adaptable environment, pushing modern ways of learning alongside a forward-thinking approach to sustainable design practice.

This included solutions for traditional and advanced learning environments, social spaces, building entrances, lecture theatres, cyber cafes and staff offices.
