Elite selected as partner for North East Space Skills & Technology Centre
We’re pleased to confirm Northumbria University have selected Elite as their furniture supply and install partner for their £50m space skills, research and development centre set to transform the UK space industry.
Following a competitive tender process via the North East University Purchasing Consortium, Elite’s submission was selected as the successful bid.
As part of the tendering process, our design team created 3D visuals that allowed the university’s procurement team to envisage the space with our innovative, collaborative and sustainable products aiding the creation of an advanced teaching and research facility.
Sales Director, Julian Jowett commented “For our business, it’s a significant achievement to have been selected as partner for such a ground-breaking project centred around technology and innovation. We look forward to supporting Northumbria University and working with contractor Sir Robert McAlpine as they commence construction over the coming months.”
He added “We’ve had a streak of very positive outcomes from our university framework account, a strong endorsement of our efforts towards sustainable manufacturing and growth in the industry”.

Elite awarded furniture supply and installation at new college facilities
After qualifying several tender phases, Elite are delighted to have been selected for a two-phase project with Loughborough College.
The first, a new £6.5million three-storey technical learning hub. The facility will feature nine classrooms, four science labs, two open-plan working spaces and three offices. The IoT is a joint partnership with Loughborough College and Loughborough University and will be the latest addition to the East Midlands growing tech and skills learning portfolio. Once completed, the IoT building will focus on levelling up the critical engineering, manufacturing and digital skills required by local and national employers to address the ambitious engineering challenges of clean growth.
The second facility, a new three-storey sports centre, designed to provide students with unparalleled access to world-class sports facilities and flexible learning spaces. Amongst its features, the new building will include modern training spaces, contemporary learning spaces and outstanding staff areas.
We recently welcomed their project team at our head office to finalise plans and product finishes. During the visit, a tour of our manufacturing facility was given to further demonstrate our commitment to sustainability.

Elite secures project for new flexible teaching space
We’re delighted to announce University of Worcester have selected Elite as their furniture supplier for their brand-new teaching space at the University’s Severn Campus. The three-storey building will be home to staff and students of their medical, health and sport science courses, offering six specialist laboratories, flexible teaching spaces and staff working areas.
The award follows an invitation to tender through our position as an approved supplier on the North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium (NWUPC).
Production of the selected furniture ranges is underway, with delivery and installation scheduled for March 2025.

Elite appointed to three-year framework at North West college
We’re pleased to confirm Elite have been selected for a three-year framework agreement with Cheshire College – South & West, as their furniture supply and install partner. The framework includes the provision of loose furniture items in offices, classrooms, meeting rooms, reception spaces and restaurants, required during the duration of the agreement at their three campuses in Crewe, Ellesmere Port and Chester.
Following an invitation to tender via the Crescent Purchasing Consortium , Elite were selected as one of the colleges appointed partners.
We look forward to supporting the college as they continue to deliver high-quality teaching to 12,000 students and apprentices.

Supporting the Riverside Community
On 13th October, Elite were privileged to be invited along to a celebration event that marked the arrival of their new accessible minibus.
Elite were happy to make a substantial monetary donation to kick start their fundraising initiatives. In June 2023, after more than 12 months of further fundraising, the school were able to complete the purchase of their specialised minibus that featured a tail lift for wheelchair access so that all students could travel together.

Team Elite complete the ‘Yorkshire Three Peaks’ challenge
On Friday 22nd September, Team Elite took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, in aid of The Chris Aked Foundation. After an early morning journey from their homes, the team set off from Horton in Ribblesdale at 07:07, to tackle the peaks of Pen-Y-Gent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m). All members completed the challenge, with some finding it physically and mentally exhausting, and others skipping up and down the peaks, relishing in the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Nevertheless, it was an achievement for everyone!

A new super-deduction, in place from April 2021 to March 2023, allows companies to claim 130% capital allowances on new furniture. This will cut a companies’ tax bill by 25p for every pound they invest in office furniture.

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint
As part of our ongoing commitment to the environment, our distribution fleet has been upgraded with the purchase of two brand new 18Tonne trucks with the technology to be the most efficient and #environmentallyfriendly HGVs used.

Smart Energy Grant
As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce our carbon footprint through all operations, we have recently invested in new LED lighting at our sister site at Britannia Way. This initiative was supported by Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire, who offered a grant of £28,468.15 to help us make these changes.
The £8.5million Smart Energy programme has been part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Enabling small to medium business across the Greater Lincolnshire area to invest in technology that reduces energy consumption and lowers carbon emissions, working towards a greener community.
