Our Story

Elite Office Furniture UK Limited commenced production in Howden, East Yorkshire in 1986.

Two years later production moved to larger premises in Goole, East Yorkshire with a workforce of 12.

Since ‘86

From 1986 to the present day Elite Office Furniture UK Ltd has successfully grown into a multi-million pound business occupying 152,000 sq ft of manufacturing space and employing 150 people.

Within the current workforce, the original ten staff and factory operatives are still employed.

The original ten have gained promotion to either charge hands or department managers, except for Robert Clarke who has progressed from a saw operative to now being our Production Director.

The Blue Chip Era

In 1990 Elite began to add prestigious blue chip companies to its increasing yearly client base.

These household names included Rolls Royce, The Clydesdale Bank, Siemens, Scottish Power, Universities and Local Authorities around the United Kingdom.

Times Have Changed

Our corporate logo has changed several times throughout the last 30 years, evolving to reflect the company's growth and to keep in line industry trends. 

Today’s logo illustrates the bold corporate UK and international company we have become.

£1.5 Million Plant

In 1996 construction began on a new £1.5 million purpose built manufacturing plant, on this new site, the company was within easy access to major motorway corridors and shipping terminals.

New multi-million pound machinery was introduced due to the continued success of previous years business, this allowed a more streamlined and cost reducing production flow as well as a predominately lower environmental impact.

Showing Off

In 2007 Elite purchased a £2m building in the affluent and trendy suburb of Islington, London. Sales and an extended arm of the design planning service is housed there alongside the prestigious showroom space which is allocated on two floors.

Our Future

Elite has a strong commitment to the environment, so we are building a new state-of-the-art production facility at Airmyn, Goole. This will enable us to produce our furniture and seating more efficiently, minimising the operation's running costs and environmental impact.

Designed to be one of the most environmentally designed buildings, our 244,254 sq. ft. office, showroom and production plant will enable us to produce more product for our UK and overseas client base.
